We ended our year with our annual year-end luncheon at Olive Garden where we recognized outgoing board members, new board members, Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipients, and graduating seniors.

Spring Group Service Project at Feed My Starving Children

Our annual Spring group service project was at the Feed My Starving Children facility in Richardson. Thank you to all the members who were able to come out and pack up so much food! Afterwards, members met up at Yumilicious for some social time.

January meeting: Allen Library

We apologize for the variety in meeting locales this year! We have been trying to secure a meeting location that is consistent, reasonably priced, and central to our membership.

With the majority of our membership now coming from more northerly Collin County, as well as the new sponsors living in that area, the meetings will be re-located to that area. We hope to determine a permanent location soon!

The next meeting will be Friday, January 6 from 12:30-1:45 featuring a panel of college students who have been previous members our chapter.

November meeting speaker

In November, we were thankful to have Mr. Ali Master speak to us about American freedoms.

He spoke about the important American freedoms that distinguish America from the rest of the world. Such a freedom of religion, the freedom to fail, the freedom to love, and the freedom to work. He also talked about how recognizing those freedoms that we have can be very beneficial for us. Fascinating talk on many levels!

Annual Fall Group Service Project

We again chose Feed My Starving Children (Richardson) as the locale for our annual fall group service project. Thank you to all who were able to come on the unexpected short notice!

First Meeting of the 2022-23 year

We kicked off the year with our annual “ice-breaker Bunko” meeting in September.

Moving into the next decade of our charter – first meeting is September 16

The 2022-23 school year marks the 20th year of our chapter! Chartered in January 2003, our chapter has had 248 members over that time. We will start with our kick-off meeting on Friday, September 16 at the Haggard Library in Plano. We welcome back 20 returning members, 4 new members and 2 new sponsors.

Pre- first meeting picnic & games

Thank you to our Social Chair, Thomas, for putting together what has become an annual “pre-first meeting” gathering of both returning and new members in early September. A time to meet together, break bread and socialize in a less formal setting. Usually a lot smaller than the first meeting, but always a good time!

End of Year Luncheon

We hosted our end of year luncheon again at the Olive Garden, where we honored our 16 graduating seniors and inducted our 2022-23 officers.

Annual Graduating Senior Panel

Our March meeting included election of new officers and our annual panel of 10 of our 16 graduating seniors. Seniors are asked a series of questions pertaining to what they are doing in their next season of life and their decision process in getting there. Thank you to all the Seniors who participated and blessings to each of you as you move on. We are thankful that you chose to include ESA as part of your high school experience!
